About this tour
For those who love to ride this is a gem. It’s a trip of 55km. You can bring your own bike if you wish, or use one of our comfortable touring bikes, just let us know in advance. We ride from Burswood along the Swan River, visiting the several points of interest. We also give you the chance to try your skills at throwing a returning boomerang.
At Point Walter we stop for a BBQ and those who want to, can walk out on the 1km long sand bank that extends into the river. Birds are everywhere. We ride around Fremantle visiting all the popular sites as well as a few unusual ones. Fremantle is perfectly designed for exploring by bike and is very bike friendly.
We leave Fremantle nearly always with the afternoon sea breeze at our backs and ride up the coast through Cottesloe, City Beach and finish at Scarborough where you can either leave your bike there and take the bus/train back to Perth, or else, ride back to Burswood (another 15km) with the tour guide.
What you should bring
We provide the bike and helmet, and you should bring a hat (a cap is best to fit under the helmet), phone/camera, sunglasses, water, cash payment for us unless you have prepaid, and $4.50 for your fare back to Perth.
Meeting Point and time
Burswood Station is on the Thornlie railway line.
If you leave Perth Central Railway station, platform 4 on the 9.07am train, you’ll get to Burswood at 9.15am which is perfect. If you miss that train there’s another 15 minutes later and we’ll wait for you to arrive, but the 9.15am train is best.
Get off the train and walk forwards and turn right to cross the railway line. Head down the steps, across the road, and down another flight of steps and we’ll be waiting at the bottom (Burswood Resort and Casino Car Park)
